Founded at the Cortona Sessions for New Music, the duo has earned acclaim for their intimate and expressive performances, commissioning and premiering new works across the U.S. and internationally. • Rachel Calloway is known for her “penetrating clarity” (The New York Times) and is a frequent collaborator with top contemporary ensembles including JACK Quartet, Ensemble Signal, and Third Coast Percussion. She teaches at the University of South Carolina. • Ari Streisfeld, former founding member of the JACK Quartet, is praised for his “dazzling performance” and expertise in contemporary repertoire. He is currently Assistant Professor of Violin at the University of South Carolina. Geoffrey Deibel, joining the duo for this performance, is Associate Professor of Saxophone at FSU and an active performer and commissioner of new music. He is a member of the award-winning h2 Quartet and has appeared with Wet Ink, ICE, and major symphony orchestras. He is also a faculty member of the Cortona Sessions. Join us for an evening of evocative, boundary-pushing chamber music, including two world premieres that explore the dynamic possibilities of voice, strings, and saxophone in the contemporary idiom.
