About the Artist: Hsiang Tu is a Taiwanese-American classical pianist praised by The New York Times for his “eloquent sensitivity” and by The Boston Intelligencer for his “impeccable technique.” He made his New York debut at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center after winning The Juilliard School Concerto Competition. Tu has performed internationally in venues such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Jordan Hall in Boston, and the National Recital Hall in Taipei. A prizewinner at competitions including the New Orleans International Piano Competition and the American Paderewski Piano Competition, Tu has appeared with orchestras like the Calgary Philharmonic and the Louisiana Philharmonic. He has also served as a faculty member at institutions such as Virginia Tech and the University of New Hampshire, and currently holds the position of Assistant Professor of Piano at the University of Florida.
