We Hold These Tunes: Music From Thomas Jefferson's Library

Tallahassee Bach Parley

Sunday, June 7
3 pm
211 North Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL

Join the Tallahassee Bach Parley for We Hold These Tunes: Music from Thomas Jefferson’s Library, a fascinating journey into the personal music collection of one of America’s most passionate musical amateurs, Thomas Jefferson.

A dedicated violinist who practiced daily and filled Monticello with instruments and chamber music, Jefferson believed the arts were central to a life well lived. As our nation marks its 250th anniversary, Bach Parley’s season finale brings his musical world to life through the very music he played and cherished.

🎻 Featuring music by Thomas Arne, Arcangelo Corelli, Francesco Geminiani, and Johann Christian Bach, composers spanning the Baroque and early Classical eras and reflecting the musical influences that shaped Jefferson’s world.

✨ Performed on period instruments by:

- Valerie Prebys & Martie Perry, baroque violin

- Wayne Pearcy, natural trumpet

- Kim Jones, baroque cello

- Alexandra Dunbar, harpsichord
