The Javacya Arts Conservatory, in collaboration with Florida A&M University Developmental Research School (FAMU DRS), invites the community to an inspiring evening of musical excellence. The culminating summer concert, "Still We Rise: A Symphony of Words and Pop," will take place at 6:15 p.m. Monday, June 29, at the FAMU DRS Cafetorium, 400 W. Orange Ave. Admission is free and open to the public. Featuring Javacya and FAMU DRS Summer Music Campers alongside a live orchestra and band, the multidisciplinary production will showcase dance, singing, and spoken word. This year's performance features a series of tributes dedicated to some of the world's most influential cultural icons. The ensemble will honor the poetry of Maya Angelou, the genre-defying musical legacies of Prince and Michael Jackson, the trailblazing artistry of ballet powerhouse Misty Copeland, and the groundbreaking choreography of the legendary Alvin Ailey. The evening will feature the highly anticipated debut of a new video project.
