Samantha Carston grew up immersed in the blues, singing alongside her father and developing a deep-rooted love for the music from an early age. At just 15, she made her debut performance at a blues club in the Pacific Northwest, beginning a musical journey that has taken her from the PNW to Hawaii and, most recently, to Florida’s Panhandle.

Now based in the Panhandle, Samantha performs as part of the duo The Sevens. Her musical inspirations include blues legends Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi, and the “Three Kings”—as well as the distinctive artistry of Hindi Zahra and the raw energy of Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Rooted in the blues but open to wherever the music leads, Samantha continues to explore her own voice while honoring the artists and traditions that first inspired her.

For this, her Jazzmatazz at Blue Tavern debut, Samantha will be joined a top-tier trio led by Jazzmatazz founder and BT stalwart Michael Bakan on drums.
