For all that swelter and sweat, the relief of man made ice and air conditioning is to be celebrated as well as the man responsible for these human achievements.

Once again we are honored to commemorate Dr. John Gorrie with the shortest play ever: "Celebration of Ice!" performed on our stage, a reenactment of Dr. Gorrie introducing his unheard of device, the first ice machine, at an Apalachicola Bastille Day in 1850.

Stick around for some more fun with the Green Street Sheiks, music starting at 8pm. $5 is requested for the band.

There will be extra champagne on hand for the celebration, and lots of yummy food for sale!
