FSFA Scottish Fiddle Contest (Highland Games)
Scottish Fiddle Workshop and Contest at the Tallahassee Highland Games
We are delighted to announce our second annual Scottish Fiddle Workshop and Contest at the Tallahassee Highland Games on Sunday, February 8th, 2026, sponsored in part by the Florida State Fiddlers Association!
All are invited to enter or attend and there is no fee to enter, other than the festival entry. While preference will be given to traditional Scottish fiddling, we welcome all musicians who play other instruments as long as they are playing Scottish fiddle tunes. Participants will be encouraged to join the Florida State Fiddlers Association (for only $20) if they are not already members, but membership is not required to participate. Ribbons will be awarded to winners, but there will be no cash prizes. The only fee to participate is the festival entrance fee. For more information about the festival and to purchase tickets, visit: https://tallyhighlandgames.com/
There will be only one category and contestants must perform solo and acoustically, with no accompaniment or amplification. Participants play two different tunes chosen from these tune types: air, march, strathspey, reel. Please see complete Contest Rules here.
