A friendly introduction to Shape-Note Singing!

Please join Esther Morgan Ellis, professor of music at the University of North Georgia, for a friendly introduction to shape note singing as part of FSU’s Day of Community Music!

Shape note, singing is a participatory American singing tradition that uses differently shaped note heads to help singers learn, melodies and harmony in this hands-on session, participants will learn the basics of the tradition and sing together from shape, note music, including familiar songs, such as amazing Grace and wayfaring stranger.

All are welcome and no prior singing experience is required.
