Tallahassee’s electronic music festival returns with more tentacles and a longer reach. Five performing acts light up their gear to unleash a full spectrum of sequenced sound in the heart of downtown Tallahassee, inside a newly-acquired indoor performance space at RealCoolTime Records. OCTRONICA 2 will showcase an astounding range of electronic music; from the ethereal and melodic drum n’ bass of PixelDeath64, deep minimal techno of Rexford Tugwell and breakbeat house from wildcard Burlap Productions, to the left-field trip-hop kaleidoscope of Nathan Pugh and boom-bap rap lyricism from Don’t Tell A Soul. There will be no stone left un-turned, and no buttons left un-pushed. Last year’s 2024 debut made a memorable impression, and organizer Glenn Swan is excited to once again lay such a skilled assembly of technicians before your ears. Starting at 8:00 pm, with an average of 30 minutes per set, the anticipated running order will be: •> PixelDeath64 •> Burlap Productions •> Rexford Tugwell •> Don’t Tell A Soul •> Nathan Pugh Among other visual stimuli, the walls will feature video art from special guest Chris Faupel – creative director for the Tallahassee Film Festival. On the periphery expect a dedicated merchandise table, $1 gear raffle and assorted beverages. There’s a suggested $3 cover, but attendees are welcome to pay what they can. Come early, explore the store and enjoy the preshow tunes. Another memorable experience guaranteed for both the fans and the uninitiated. Not to be missed!
