Foltz, presents “Stage and Screen Classics,” in this annual family-friendly fall concert, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in Turner Auditorium at Tallahassee State College; 444 Appleyard Drive; Free parking and free admission for all! Featuring: Star Trek Through the Years, arr. John Moss; An American in Paris, by George Gershwin, transcribed for band by John Krance; The Pirates of Penzance: Overture, by Arthur Sullivan, arr. Robert O’Brien; Highlights from ‘The Boys from Syracuse,’ by Richard Rogers, arr. Paul Yoder; and, Ballet Music from ‘William Tell’: Pas de Six, by Gioachini Rossini and scored by Eric Hanson. Additionally, we are excited to include two marches by John Philip Sousa on the program celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States Navy (October 13, 1775) and of the United States Marine Corps. (November 10, 1775): The Glory of the Yankee Navy (first composed by Sousa as a song for the musical comedy ‘The Yankee Girl’ in 1909 and repurposed by the composer into this stand-alone march during the same year), arranged by Loras Schissel; and Semper Fidelis! We’ll also continue to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Army (June 14, 1775) with a special selection! Turner Auditorium is located in the Fine and Performing Arts Center (FPAC), between the Administration Building and the Communications and Humanities Building. Donations welcomed.
