2025 Artist Residency Concert with Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band

Saturday, Sep 27
7 pm - 8:30 pm

Longmire Alumni Building Room 201

The Florida Folklife Program is excited to share this event as a part of our yearly Artist-In-Residence Concert series. This year's FREE concert will be held at Florida State University’s Longmire Alumni Building Room 201 on September 27, 2025 from 7-8:30 PM, and will feature Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band as our artists in residence. Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band connect people with music that is woven into the fabric of the United States. Carrying on the tradition of old-time, pre-bluegrass string bands and songsters, they raise the roof with traditional folk songs, fiddle tunes, old-time country, bluegrass, Appalachian music, ragtime, blues, spirituals, railroad and cowboy songs, work songs, sea shanties, reels, breakdowns, ballads, and more. The show is free and open to the public, with doors open at 6:30 pm. We encourage all who are fans of these musical traditions to come out! Update: We are looking forward to Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band's concert this Saturday, and we have a couple updates. The address listed is for the Longmire building, but there is no substantial/reliable parking off of the building. We therefore encourage everyone to park at the Call Street Garage located at 504 W Call St, Tallahassee, FL 32301. Folklife will have workers along the way to help guide you towards the concert if needed. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the elevator is the Longmire building has gone out and will most likely not be usable for the concert this weekend. We look forward to seeing you all there to hear from our wonderful Artists-in-Residence!
