RAISIN’ CANE WILL DEBUT ON SOPCHOPPY OPRY SEPTEMBER 27th! Hello Country Music Fans! Look who’s coming to the Sopchoppy Opry, September 27th historic Sopchoppy High School Auditorium! It’s the Raisin’ Cane Band!Raisin’ Cane is a fantastic band with a group of talented musicians representing over 100 years of stage experience! This band has a repertoire of music sure to please every fan, so get ready for an evening of great country music played by some of the best in the business! Band members include Elizabeth Fravel, upright bass; David Langston, fiddle; Chris Wright, guitar; Rob Schoen, mandolin. Together they are Raisin’ Cane and produce a a fantastic ‘new grass’ sound that is creating a lot of excitement in Tallahassee and around the Big Bend! This show will be a homecoming of sorts for fiddle player extraordinaire, David Langston – he was an originalmember of the Sopchoppy Opry’s house band ‘South Bound’. The Opry and South Bound celebrated 25 years of great music in July 2025. One fan put it this way when he heard that Raisin’ Canewas coming to the Sopchoppy Opry, ‘I feel like the little boy eating ice cream on a hot summer day – all he could say as the ice cream dripped off his chin and ran down his elbows, ‘it just keeps getting gooder and gooder’! And so it does at the Sopchoppy Opry! We’ve been blessed to have some great music, musicians and vocalist over the years! We are honored to welcome Raisin’ Cane to the stage of historic Sopchoppy High School Auditorium! South Bound’s fabulous musicians – Opry Musical Coordinator Reggie Bradley (bass); Larry Bullock (steel guitar); Lamar Brock (drums); Jay Newsome (lead guitar); ‘Mr. Country’ Johnny Calloway (rhythm guitar/vocals) and Wayne Martin (fiddle) will play the first set.
