The Blues According to Miles & Armstrong

The Longineu Parsons Quartet

Saturday, Aug 30
8 pm - 10 pm

The blues is a music of sorrow and joy, consolation and celebration, despair and revelry. What better music, then, to follow FSU's season-opening battle with the mighty Crimson Tide of Alabama on the afternoon of August 30th?! We'll be there for you that evening with all the blues you can use, digging deep into the repertoires and channeling the spirits of two of the greatest ever to play the music in its jazz incarnations: Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong. This event marks the return to Tallahassee--after several months overseas in Asia--of the great Longineu Parsons. Who better to honor the legacies of Pops and Miles, right? Accompanying Longineu on this blues/jazz journey will be Will Fulkerson (keys), Jose Antonio Serrano (bass), and Michael Bakan (drums). Whether you're raising a victory toast or drowning your sorrows, we've got you covered! $10 cover
