Music for Food: Summer Serenade

Sunday, Jul 27
4 pm - 5:30 pm

Grace Lutheran Church-Elca

Come celebrate summer with us at our next Music For Food concert on Sunday, July 27 at 4pm at Grace Lutheran Church. We're looking forward to an afternoon of music-making and connection, and we hope you'll join us! Our theme for this concert is "Summer Serenade," featuring evocative music that is ravishingly beautiful ... and fun to listen to! Our performers will be violinist Megumi Terry, cellist Mitchell George, and pianist Dean Peiskee -- they'll serenade you with the gorgeous slow movement from Felix Mendelssohn's D Minor Piano Trio, showcase the playful filigree and snappy brilliance of Frederic Chopin's "Introduction and Polonaise" for cello and piano, and invite you into Amy Beach's lyrical and heartfelt "Romance" for violin and piano. Closing the program will be the sizzling "Four Seasons of Buenos Aires" by the famed Argentinian tango composer Astor Piazzolla. Music For Food Tallahassee is an all-volunteer, musician-led initiative to fight hunger in our community, and we're part of a national organization with 22 chapters across the country. Our concert is free, but we'll be collecting non-perishable food and monetary donations; 100% of the funds raised will benefit the FSU Food for Thought Pantry. Donations may be made by cash, check payable to the FSU Foundation, or online at https://dsst.fsu.edu/foodpantry Suggested donation is $20/adult, $5/student, and non-perishable food donations are welcomed. We were honored to be featured in the May issue of Tallahassee Magazine, so check out this article for more information and photos! https://www.tallahasseemagazine.com/a-feast-for-the-ears/ We hope you'll come out to join us for this delightful music to nourish our souls, as we continue to collect food to nourish our community. Please spread the word, and we'll look forward to seeing you there!
