The Friday night opener for the Word of South festival, Violent Femmes with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, will perform their self-titled debut album at the Adderley Amphitheater at Cascades Park on Friday, April 4, 2025. Pioneering 1980s folk-punk outfit, the Violent Femmes, join forces with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra for a fully symphonic rendition of their self-titled debut album. Released in 1983, the album features classic tracks like "Blister in the Sun," "Gone Daddy Gone," and "Add It Up." Formed in 1981 in Milwaukee, Violent Femmes gained a dedicated following with their distinctive blend of punk and folk rock.
