Big Al and the Heavyweights who hail from New Orleans will be touring in 2025 in support of their latest Vizztone Label Group album, Blues Power. From greasy funk to grinding blues mixed sprinkled with some bayou soul and of course infectious zydeco, this album is truly a fine representation of American Roots Music Big Al and the Heavyweights originally formed in 1996 as the Unknown Blues Band with founding members Al Lauro, Warren Haynes and Rick Gergen (Sweethearts of the Rodeo). Of course, Warren is no longer in the band, but Big Al has formed a solid array of musicians including critically acclaimed guitarist vocalist, Marcel Anton, on bass guitar and vocals Dennis “The Menace” Cedeno from Brooklyn, NY and on harmonica and vocals, Motor City’s most Dangerous, Dale Robertson. With 7 recordings of original roots music, the band continues to tour extensively playing venues and festivals throughout the US.
