“Crossing the Alps: Vivaldi, Neighbors, and Friends” is the theme of the upcoming Tallahassee Bach Parley performances at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, (open dress rehearsal) and 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 211 N. Monroe St. The program features diverse styles including works of Vivaldi, Telemann, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, and Francesco Mancini. Recorder virtuoso Don Fader describes the “Crossing the Alps” theme and notes that “the musical connections between Italy and Germany go far back into the Middle Ages but were particularly important in the 18th century." $10 donation; free childcare available.
