Randell Closson & Robynn O’Leary

Friday, Nov 7
7 pm - 9:30 pm

The Wine House on Market Street

Inspired by music therapy during cancer treatment, Robynn O’Leary started playing music in public in 2017 when she first stepped foot on the Open Mic stage at the Warehouse. During the pandemic, she hosted a virtual Open Mic for two years that aired on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook. Since then, she acts as administrator for the “Open Mic Tallahassee” Facebook group, where she posts reviews of local Open Mics. Robynn was a band member of Pineapple Tuesday for 3 years, where she sang backup vocals and played the keys. Robynn has been writing songs for only the last 5 years. She said recently, “When you hang out with musicians all of the time, music becomes your language. After a while, songs start writing themselves, and you just can’t help it.” Randall discovered his passion for music at age 5 when his uncle gave him a flutophone, which is a soprano recorder for children. Within a few days, he was playing melodies on it. He started learning saxophone in 3rd grade and played his first gig at age 14. He started teaching sax and woodwinds at age 15 and began serious guitar studies at that time, studying Jazz and Classical guitar. He's been playing and teaching continuously ever since, including many different genres and venues throughout the US, as well as studio work. This Duo will be performing eclectic psychedelic folk, blues, and some originals. $10 Cover
