Thursday, September 11, 7-9 p.m. the Tallahassee Chapter of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) and the Challenger Learning Center, presents a performance at the Challenger Center Planetarium to benefit the Center’s youth science education programs. NSAI Benefit Concerts are songwriter performances of original songs in an exciting “Writers-in-the-Round” format, performed by their creators. Songwriters appearing are Tallahassee NSAI members and Special Guest Artists. Doors open 6:30 p.m. Admission at the door is to support the Challenger Learning Center’s programs. The Tallahassee Chapter of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) is a member group of the Council on Culture and Arts (COCA) the official arts agency of Tallahassee and Leon County. Featured Artists are: *Jen Clark, *Bobby Kennedy, *Maurice Mangum, *Kelly Goddard, and *Dave McKenzie. The Chapter has begun a community-wide outreach of benefit concerts to assist not-for-profit organizations serving local residents. Since January, 2025, they have staged successful events that helped bring assistance to social services, arts and cultural organizations in the area. Upcoming concerts in the series include: *Lichgate Historic Site, Saturday, October 18, 11 am to 4 pm, an outdoor family event to benefit repair and refurbishment efforts at the site. *Unitarian Universalist Church concert, Friday November 14, 7-9 pm in an interfaith collaboration to benefit Grace Mission homeless programs. *Palaver Tree Theater, Friday, December 5, 7-9 pm to benefit theater arts education programs.
