Thomasville Entertainment Foundation’s 87th concert series continues Thursday with a performance by a Grammy-nominated a cappella vocal chamber ensemble whose program will include the world premiere of a new work by Florida State University Music Professor Dr. Iain Quinn. New York Polyphony, a quartet of male voices acclaimed by critics for its “superb musicianship and vocal allure” (The New Yorker), takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Thomasville Center for the Arts.Four unaccompanied voices – a countertenor, two tenors and a bass-baritone – take the audience on a journey of diverse ancient and modern music ranging from 12th century chant and Franco-Flemish sacred works and from Renaissance madrigals to 20th century American tunes. $40 for adults, $15 for students,available online at TEFconcerts.com or by calling the TEF office at 229-226-7404 Tickets are available online at TEFconcerts.com or by calling the TEF office at 229-226-7404.
