Jan's Gallery

Note from the organizer, 1/7/2024: We are changing the Miriam Hacksaw Show (from the Bark at 7 pm) to 8 pm tonight (Jan. 7th) at Jan's Gallery, 615-4 Railroad Square. Simon and Rosa will open, as planned, and then Shanice Richards will perform on her fiddle and guitar. Miriam and her brother Rye (shown below driving up from St. Pete) should arrive by 9:30 pm. Come and pass a good time! Wanna hear old time vocals, fiddle, rhythm bones, shruti box, pandeiro, triangle and gourd banjo played by two musicians from New Orleans? Well, you have found the right event! Miriam Hacksaw and her brother Rye will appear at The Bark on Tues. Jan. 7th! Doors open 7 pm, show at 7:30 pm. $5 cover and tips encouraged! Miriam can also sing songs from Kerala, India through her grandfather, who taught her the words in Malayalam--the lyrics are from the perspective of street kids busking on trains (https://youtu.be/ov30XWSeLwQ?si=Wm9dddi_a7rpg4nW).
